SAT Tomorrow...

Is it possible to be as nervous as I am now? Um.. I don't think, maybe not even in the future of all history!

I hate how this test is one of the determining factors for college, and basically LIFE. Pressureeee.

I was calling one of my friends sorta freaking out haha

Football or Soccer?

Just a quick post :) I took this picture on the way back to Abu Dhabi from Dubai. Our soccer ("football") team had a game against two schools. We lost both, but we had several injured players.

More of Vigan

These are just a couple more pictures from when we went to Vigan, Philippines last month. It was a beautiful busy town. We went to Baluarte, which is this governor's zoo. It was cute. As you walked in you were welcomed by birds of various species, and then to the left there was a father and son giving a miniature pony a bath! Super cute :) During the day we rode around in these carriages and the tourer directed us to there different historical sites.

Church that was across the street. Right in front were the carriages (if you can see them)

One of the birds that was in front of the Baluarte Zoo. I was surprised how they didn't fly away; this specific bird didn't have a rope around it's leg.

A cute purple truck I saw while in the cart:)

This guy makes pottery for a living! He uses a his leg to push the swirling thing (no idea what the name is). As you can imagine, his right calve if huge!

Looks for Spring

Spring is almost in the air! It's still freezing in Abu Dhabi, about 60ish degrees F (laugh all you want but that's pretty darn cold here). I've been doing homework for 2 hours and felt that I needed a quick break, and nothing says break like making a post.

70s and 80s glamour has taken over the runways of Spring 2011 Fashion Week. The big hair, bell bottoms, and cat eye sunglasses, not to mention "belt purses" which is a stylish code name for fanny pack. Skinny jeans are so common nowadays, it is no longer a fashion statement. But if you're not into bell bottoms like me, just go for the wide leg pants/trousers/jeans that make you look taller.

When wearing wide legged pants don't get a pair that are too baggy, or else they will devour your frame. Especially with wide leg jeans, try and get a straight type leg. These pants are best pulled off with killer heels.

I'm in love with fusion of 70s glam on the runways (or just 70s all the way!)

And lastly hair! I've had short hair since 9th grade. All the years before that I had long locks. The reason why I cut it was stupid and I regret it, and now I'm trying to grow it back. With all my failed attempts though, it's still short haha. Now I'm committed to growing it. I haven't cut it in about five months and it's grown about 3.5 inches! I'm hoping for it to look this T.H model or N.R model (both from Spring Fashion Week 2011)

There's No Place Like Home

In the Philippines I went shopping at local stores. At first I just wanted to see what the style of the stores were, but then I realized the clothes were stylish and a must buy! Not only that but things were nicely priced:) A shirt is about 900 PHP, which is 20 USD.

I know I need to work on my photography skills :/ The bag looks plastic-like, but it's very soft pleather.

This is the actual color of the bag. It comes with a long strap, so you can transform it into a messenger type or long shoulder bag.

I love this shirt!

I Met a New Friend

I have this obsessive craze over dinosaurs! Apparently I don't talk about it enough for it to be a real "obsession" but I think everyone else is just jealous. When my sister and I were younger we'd ask for dinosaurs rather than barbie dolls for Christmas and our birthdays. Now we religiously watch Jurassic Park.

New :)

New shoes!

New shoes from Zara! I’m in love with them and can’t wait to wear them out. It’s cold though so the ground is a little slippery :( I’ll have to wait a bit.

Haha I was supposed to be studying when I was shopping, but this week was brutal and I needed a reward. I bought three blouses/sweaters as well.

Last blouse! It has a funky texture to it.

My birthday was last month, and I was finally able to spend the birthday money my bestie gave me. He was freaking out about not being able to find me something, so to avoid my dislike to whatever he bought, I got some shopping money. Hard to believe but we’ve been friends since seventh grade:)

I hit the bookstore before I went home as usual. One of my new years resolution was to read more classic books, so this is me starting! I went a review that this book was a must read:)

Off to the Province

The next morning we spent the day driving to the province, our home. Well home is pretty specific. You can’t call a place your home if you don’t live there right? My mom’s family friend picked us up. It took him a while because of the winding roads and terrible traffic, no body really obeys the traffic laws. Needless to say the lines that are supposed to separate the lanes don’t mean a thing. We headed over to a car rental place where my dad picked up a silver Toyota.

My sister and I spent the next four hours playing cards and admiring the view out the window. The country side, well could you call it a country side? I mean it’s just rice plantations, but it looks majestic! The blend of mountains and green top it off. We felt guilty as we drove through the small towns. Some houses were made of nothing but a couple of bricks and thin metal sheets. What was most interesting was the domestic way of traveling, a tricycle! The driver has a motorcycle, or some sorta of two wheeled bike, and attached to that is a riding compartment for the client.

Usually during Christmas time I’m ready for snow, cuddling up by the fire with a warm cup of hot chocolate, and having a snowball war with my neighbors. My dad joked that we still had our “White Christmas,” but instead of snow we had sand. His attempt of cracking a joke entertained us for a little while. Our Christmas morning began with my parents going to the local parent and buying food for the luncheon we would have at our cousin’s house. By the end of the meal my stomach was filled with shrimp, tuna, catfish, seaweed, rice, and coke. Definitely an unorthodox Christmas meal, but it was delicious! Our cousins were really shy, so my sister and I were left alone. Instead of bumming around we headed off to the beach to take pictures. The sunset was gorgeous! Zamables, the province we’re at, is a city-construction-stress free village. And so we relaxed and watched the sunset over the endless sea.

A Sandy Winter

I spent a wonderful winter in the Philippines with my family. Well it was wonderful to an extent.. Our 9 hour flight landed us in the congested city of Manila. A run-down van took us to our family friend’s apartment (who kindly let us stay at their place till we left to the province). The temporary home was definitely one to remember. Our family friend had not stayed in the home yet, so hot water and extra blankets were unavailable. Nevertheless, the following three days was fun!
Our view was amazing! The city of Manila and the golf course was beautiful. Each morning there would be a herd of golfers traveling in their carts with their delicate clubs. Their outfits looked as if they were handpicked from the movies!

My mother’s close friend who lives in the building invited us to a small Christmas party. We happily attended, what else were we supposed to do as a jetlagged family in a house without cable? The dinner had two guests, local opera singers! They were quite young. After what almost seemed as a never ending performance they finished, and the staff went on stage to sing some carols.
Santa's looking thinner and tanner

Vigan: Day One

Our first day of Vigan was very eventful. We went to the governor's (someone politically important, but I don't remember exactly WHO) zoo/park venue.
